EXPERIENCE
Jen specializes in residential and commercial real estate, representing individuals, companies and banks.  In addition, Jen guides clients through the legal formation, corporate and limited liability company formation documents, not-for-profit formation and application for federal tax exempt status, as well as residential and commercial leases. She also handles litigation relating to evictions and other types of collection actions. Jen is originally from Lake Placid but began her legal career in the State of Connecticut where she worked as Judicial Clerk for the State of Connecticut Superior Court. In 2002, Jenifer returned to Lake Placid where she was an associate with the Law Office of James M. Brooks gaining invaluable experience.  She joined the firm Briggs Norfolk LLP in 2006, where she began specializing in the area of residential and commercial real estate and expanded into representing commercial lenders. Jen has appeared and argued multiple times before the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division in the Third Judicial Department and successfully argued before New York State’s highest appellate court, the Court of Appeals (Matter of Catherine G. v. County of Essex, et al., 3 N.Y. 3d 175, 785 N.Y.S.2d 369). Jen is currently the attorney for the Essex County Industrial Development Agency.
